Excessive use of internet `causing sleep problems`

Melbourne: A new survey has revealed that one out of 10 people do not sleep properly at night in order to stay in touch on the internet.
In the poll conducted by Nytol last December, more than 50 percent of 2000 people polled admitted that they went online while in bed trying to sleep, News.com.au reported.
It was found that one in five said that they needed to check their Twitter, Facebook or email accounts because they have a "fear of missing out", while just one in 10 described their quality of sleep as "good".
The survey suggested that while almost half of the respondents went straight from the couch to bed, less than 15 minutes after switching off the TV, two in five checked emails or social media accounts straight before bed, and one in four thought they were addicted to checking emails and social media in bed.

IVORY COAST FIRST LADY SENTENCED TO 20 YEARS IMPRISONMENT FOR POST ELECTION VIOLENCE

Former Ivorian First Lady Mrs Simone Gbagbo has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment by an Ivorian court for organizing post election violence after her husband, Laurent Gbagbo lost out in the 2010 Presidential elections in Ivory Coast.

In a unanimous judgement today March 10th, the court said Mrs Gbagbo together with her husband's supporters, after rejecting the results from the elections that saw her husband's main rival, Alassane Ouattara declared winner of the election, carried out activities that undermined the state security which left over 3000 people dead.

Laurent Gbagbo's son from a previous marriage, Michel Gbagbo, was also sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for his role in the post election violence. Lawyers to Mrs Gbagbo say they would be appealing the judgement.

HE MUST REALLY LOVE TOMATOES! GARDENER GROWS HEART-SHAPED FRUIT IN HIS GREENHOUSE

Look of love: Rod Matless lovingly holds up the heart-shaped tomato that sprouted in his greenhouse - the gardener sold the fruit for £16 and donated the cash to the British Heart Foundation

It's not often a tomato is described as so sweet 'whenever people see it they just want to hug it' - but this was no ordinary piece of fruit.
The heart-shaped tomato was grown by retired dagger maker, Rod Matless, who said he was shocked when he noticed it in his greenhouse while inspecting his latest produce.
Mr Matless, 69, who suffered a heart attack a few years ago, was so taken aback by the phenomenal fruit that he decided to sell it at auction and donate the proceeds to the British Heart Foundation.

The 2.26oz tomato was bought for £16 on eBay by a woman from Wales - who said she planned to give it to someone special.
Mr Matless, of Wymondham, near Norwich, said: 'It was a bit of an obvious thing to do I suppose.

'I spent a couple of days thinking about it and I wasn't really sure, but this seems like a good use.
